I fell asleep, glad we won. I went to MLB to get the final score and this is what I see:
    Brilliant! Yanks sweep in London

The Red Sox hit 3 early HRs ... but the Yanks laughed last, putting up 9 in the 7th for a historic sweep.
I've got to say I'm kind of surprised MLB thinks it's "Brillant" we swept the Sox. Would it still be "Brillant" if the Sox swept us? Or how about a split?

    • So much for 1-0 in 17 innings lol. Do either of these teams have any pitching or does the ball fly farther in Europe?

      • Yes, the pitching had a lot to be desired. I am not sure of all the stadium dimensions, but I heard them say it was only 385’ to center field. They had to turn this stadium into a baseball field which is something it was never intended to be. Probably the only place to play over there that would hold this many people and considering they never play the game over there. Possibly the hot humid weather and the heat wave they are having had something to do with the ball going further. But the amount of line drive hits was on the pitching.

Just wanted to tell everyone what is going on. I went to see a specialist in Boston today and he recommended I have surgery to correct an issue with my vocal cord. I will have the surgery next week and will be out for about a month, starting with today’s game and radio show.

            • Slow time of year in Islander country, time to focus on the Yankees. Is our pitching good enough to get us past Houston?

Maybe, because we can play 5 inning games with our bullpen. But I sure would feel better with 1 more front line starter.

                • Final today, Rays 2 Yankees 1. The All-Star break is soon here. This Tuesday night. I am glad that a couple of years ago they gave meaning to this game by making it that whoever wins, that League gets home field advantage for the World Series. I like baseball. And I like football, especially the Philadelphia Eagles. I will be at the Eagles-Jets game this Fall. But to tell you the truth, I am really ready for the hockey season. And it’s only July 7th.

                        • Yanks beat the Blue Jays today 4-2. Won 2 out of the 3 games. Now Tampa Bay comes in for 4 games starting tomorrow. Yanks are playing good baseball presently.

German pitched a gem in this series. Happ also pitched very well. Still, I would like to add a front line starting pitcher.
