Johnny Boychuk could return to Isles in Hurricanes series 'if it goes the distance'

“Probably not…if it goes the distance, maybe,” said Trotz after the optional morning skate at Barclays Center. “But he’s making great progress and hopefully be back on the ice fairly shortly.”

"We’re all buying in. There’s pride about being an Islander.”

Feeling a tad bit uncomfortable with the lack of urgency I am hearing from the team.
The object is to win. Not just to compete, but to win.

First, Lou believes in radio silence, he's very quiet, there is no one to call up as we don't have a sniper in the organization (the Bridge) and we lost 1-0 & 2-1. both games could have gone either way. If we were blown out thats a different story.

I suspect MDC in for Cal. MDC plays with 51 and 18. Uncle Leo moves to 4th line.

Not a bad move as it's the only move, at least MDC will plant himself in front of the net, and he has a pulse as Nelson hasn't this series so far.

There are a couple of passengers in this series. Brock has been bad. Kuhnakl has been awful (you'd think this guy would be working his tail off to stay in the lineup). Matt Martin has not been Matt Martin (appears they interfere with him constantly when he tries to get to his man). Nick Leddy is Nick Leddy.

Need for these guys to start picking it up.

Interesting that they leave the 3rd line intact while changing things up on Lines 2 and 4. I like it. Filp's been their best forward. Maybe MDC can help awaken 29 and 12 from their Round 2 slumber.

I like it too. These make sense.

Rod Brind’Amour has made four straight trips to the Eastern Conference finals with the Carolina Hurricanes as a player and coach after Friday’s 5-2 win over the New York Islanders secured a second-round sweep.
