#Isles Barry Trotz said it's too early in the week to determine whether Casey Cizikas (lower body) will be available for Friday night's season-opener vs. #Caps but Trotz is hopeful Cizikas will resume skating in the next couple of days.

    Catching Up With Casey Cizikas

Coming off of a career-high 20-goal year, Casey Cizikas is amping up for the upcoming season.

Just as quickly as the 2018-19 hockey season wrapped up and the offseason set in, the upcoming 2019-20 season is just around the corner. For Islanders seasoned center Casey Cizikas, he's itching to get back at in the game action.

Cizikas, who is coming off of a career-high, 20-goal season - a first in his eight-year NHL career, doesn't feel pressure to duplicate his production from last season. Individual numbers do not align with the Islanders' team-first culture that was adopted by the arrival of Barry Trotz last summer. Rather, Cizikas' singular strides were a byproduct of the entire team's collective commitment towards a united goal.

"It's not easy to score 20 goals in the NHL," Cizikas said. "I'm doing everything this summer to put myself in a position to succeed. Going into this season, that's not my goal. That's not something I'm only trying for. I want to do everything possible to help this team the best way I can. Whatever the coaches ask of me and whatever management asks of me I'm going to go out there and try and do that."

    Zeeker in Brampton soon.....
Brampton will be hosting the first-ever annual hockey night very soon. And, many all-star NHL players will be in attendance.

If the Isles win a Cup, I won't care less about the order of who carries it. As long as that person is wearing an Islander jersey.

While Cizikas is still more of a 4th liner than 3rd liner in terms of defense, I wouldn't be against promoting him to line 3 next year if it means spending a few bucks on the top 2 lines. Then go the 1 year Fippula like vet route for 4th line center.

I told him it will for sure be Bailey. He is a well known Bailey hater, but even he admitted that Bailey would deserve it.
You're trying to goat me aren't you?

He just played his 50th game, care to re-evaluate?

When he is healthy this season, you see the impact Trotz has had on his overall game.

Career high in less than half a season. Not bad.
He said it would almost be embarrassing to be excited about 10 goals when the reporter ask him that question. I wish the reporter had of fired back and said well would you be excited about 20 and I bet his answer would have been YES YES YES

Cizikas scored his 10th of the season tonight. New career high. Still lots of season left.

Casey Cizikas scored his eighth goal of the season on Saturday in game 24. Career-high is nine. That should increase nicely this year. #Isles
TBH, I would have thought he had a better goal high than 9. Very surprised at that.
