That would make him a hard pass for me. Really disappointed we didn't make the scoring winger a higher priority.

I do not see it being likely that we give him 6 or 7 years, or $7 or $8 million. Clearly no one else did.
I think the fact that he's still out there only hurts his bargaining position.

And apparently there are still 3 teams being very interested in him. Detroit being another one and they have a lot of cap room.
You never know. Danton Heinen resigned with Pittsburgh for 1 million. The guy had 18 goals last season and makes less money than Ross Johnston. Sometimes, as rosters and money start to fill out, you've got to take what you can get. I want Kadri, but I'm not willing to break the bank for him.

        • Just remember if we do sign Kadri he has one thing in common with Isles fans. Both don't like Tavares. Naz was drafted 7th and Tavares went first but don't forget what happened in junior? While Tavares was breaking all Gretzky's scoring records and was knighted the 1st overall pick long before his draft year. Tavares was a deadline deal in his last season and got sent to London Knights. Naz already being there with the number 91. Everyone thought Kadri would let Tavares wear his 91 but Naz said no. LOL

Plus he was sent away from the Leafs to make room once again for Tavares. So Kadri has that going for him

          • Looks like we've signed Kadri for 7 years....
The object is to win. Not just to compete, but to win.

                • I would be happy with 7x7 for Kadri. Anything higher sucks but that may be the price of business.

I'd be even happier if they announced it

Sounds like one of the top UFAs of this summer, Nazem Kadri, is finally getting off the market

                            • If we go into this season with the same roster as last season then I cant say I'm optimistic.
