Kadri made 4.5 mil a yr in his last contract. We could probably get him for 7.5 or less. Bailey has 2 more yrs and then we hopefully get his 5 mil back to use.

We have been washing off 30 years of failure in the last 5 or 6 years. We are getting closer to getting that fish. But you can't keep turning away players like Kadri hoping that next year we will land the big fish. I hate to say this but in the last 50 years I don't ever recall a big fish picking us?
I prefer keeping my big money contracts to guys that are worth it. I don't think he will be, but I hope I'm wrong.

We are getting ahead of ourselves. We have no idea what the contract will look like. After he did not sign the first day or 2 of free agency, it is possible he is going to sign a 1 or 2 year cheaper deal and then try again when the cap goes up.
I do not see it being likely that we give him 6 or 7 years, or $7 or $8 million. Clearly no one else did.

And apparently there are still 3 teams being very interested in him. Detroit being another one and they have a lot of cap room.
