I think he could be an upgrade over Bailey, but he can't be the only upgrade.

In my opinion, if you got him, subtracted Bailey, and then figured out a way to convince Patrick Kane to be traded here, we might be as good as any team in the league.

I didn't forget about Beauvillier, I just don't see a way we could add all that salary without removing both Bailey AND Beauvillier.

So my guess is that if we signed Kadri, Lou might be setting us up to go for Patrick Kane at some point.

No reason he cant be a healthy scratch for many games. Who knows, maybe he'd actually start shooting more and not take his spot on the roster for granted.

For salary cap purposes Bailey has to go. Maybe Beau too.

Moving Beau shouldn't be too hard. But Bailey will be harder and imo will not happen.

So it's either a buyout or bury him in the AHL if he really has to be moved

He may not be what we need and I agree with you. However still saying that Kadri on the Islanders makes us a better team bottom line.

I agree George but this is still about part of the process to rid the stench of years gone by off the Islanders. Kadri would be the 1st big free agent to sign with the Islanders. For longevity sake of keeping this franchise in the future would be so good for this organization. And to be honest if Kadri has signed with us that would basically say the stigma and the stench from this franchise from yesteryear would be gone!

Not the guy I want either George but I see this signing as bigger than just what I want. It means in the future you are in contention to sign the really big fish.
