So 9/26 is only a week and a half away.. When does camp actually start?

I was talking to Reece's mom the other day and she said he had been training his ass off all summer. Didn't have the heart to tell her there is no room at the Inn. But it is still very early for Reece

Seeing Wednesday the 22nd, next week, for most teams. Think that’s first official day on the ice, players showing up Monday and Tuesday.

I'm surprised about no rookie camp. Most other teams are still having them this year. Curious decision the Isles made.

Hearing the #NYI are bringing defenceman Erik Gustafsson to training camp on a PTO.

Where do you think Reece plays this year? Is he eligible for AHL?

Didn't the Islanders have a Reece on their team a bunch of year's ago?

#Isles haven't announced anything (crazy, we know) but it appears they've signed veteran pro F Andy Andreoff, presumably to a two-way contract. Played six games with PHI last season. Looks like RFA Dmytro Timashov may also be back. Source - Art Staple via Twitter

He has been down in Portland for some time now skating with the Winter Hawks. So my guess would be Junior.

                            Tidbits from Lou's presser

                            https://twitter.com/AGrossNewsday

Anders Lee has been medically cleared.

Lou says Anders Lee and J-G Pageau will be ready for the start of the season.

Matt Martin had surgery for a bone chip in his ankle earlier in the offseason. He'll be ready for the start of the season, per Lou.

Lou: Erik Gustafsson on a PTO, Cory Schneider on a two-way deal. Michael Dal Colle and Kieffer Bellows will be in training camp.

Zach Parise will be on a one-year deal with Isles.
                            https://twitter.com/StapeAthletic

LL: We're happy with the group we have, it's pretty much in place. You can name the six defensemen who should be in opening day and you can pretty much write down the 12 forwards who should be there. #Isles

                            https://twitter.com/MollieeWalkerr

Lou Lamoriello on Zdeno Chara and Zach Parise: "I think the abilities that they still have, in my opinion, will certainly enhance what we have." Mentions that both have been captains, and are high-character players.

Lou Lamoriello says UBS Arena is just "incredible, the way it's come." First sheet of ice has been laid down.

I asked Lamoriello about his peculiar approach to this #Isles offseason, waiting to announce signings and withholding details: "I can understand the question, but there's a reason for everything you do. It's a combination of things, has to do with the salary cap, negotiations...and has to do with potential sort of acquisitions of confidentiality and the unknown to your opponent."

More from Lamoriello on Zdeno Chara: "His size, his frame, the way he plays the game, I think it'll be an asset to our goaltenders, as far as certainly giving them a lot of vision. Penalty killing, which has been his forte for years. And his all-around presence."

More from Lamoriello on Zach Parise: "He can play in all situations... Although he certainly isn't in his prime, but [he] knows how to play the game. And with the group that we have, will complement and be a decided asset in it, as far as success."
"There’s unfinished business," coach Barry Trotz said.
