First hearings are set for Aug 11 with Adam Pelech (NYI), Michael McNiven (MTL) & Jakub Vrana (DET). Negotiations can continue, and a deal can be struck as late as right before the hearing begins.

At this point there is really no one left that is a free agent. So we will have to fill the open spot through a trade.

I wouldn't be surprised if they go with Bolduc or Salo and have Hickey as a backup if they don't perform well.

If they believe that Hickey can come back to what he was it's not the worst strategy. Better than signing Suter for 4 years or giving Goligoski $5 million.
