      • Does this mean we are keeping Lane Lambert for another season?

        • Fantastic news! I do not want this man going anywhere! I know it is selfish and I do hope Lane gets a crack one day because he certainly deserves it but just not now!

Per source, Coyotes UFA D Niklas Hjalmarsson is retiring. I don't expect a formal announcement or statement from Nik. Those who have covered him or known him know that is not his style.
He was an integral part of 3 Stanley Cups in Chicago and the consummate pro on/off the ice. https://t.co/b3GUVwGWa9

With an increased focus on larger, more impactful events and uses of the city-owned arena, the city of Glendale has chosen to not renew the operating agreement for the Arizona Coyotes beyond the coming 2021-22 season.

Yup. It's a matter of time. You see what the GM/owners are doing in the offseason. They are preparing to strip it down to the minimum and sell it off/move.

This article from ProHockeyRumors makes it seem like there are options to stay, and maybe they will work out, but actions speak louder than words. And the actions you mention sound like the owners are looking to wash their hands of the whole organization. What are the odds a new owner wants to stay in Arizona? My guess is the odds are not good. Quebec would make a better hockey home than the American southwest IMO.

Agreed plus the rivalry with Montreal is up there with ours with the Rags. They hate each other. For us Canadians there is something satisfying about watching Quebecers fight lol

The isles are in a viable hockey market. The yotes not so much. They've played in modern arenas in Arizona and they just can't seem to make enough money.

Building an arena in AZ makes no sense to me. Time to try somewhere new imo
